The GGI (GGI), supported by partners Capsticks and Cass Business School, was commissioned by NHS England to carry out a major piece of work requested by CCGs to help them assess and improve their governance arrangements.
Between March and October 2014, GGI worked with and consulted CCGs and other stakeholders through various mediums to develop:
A consistent language to describe governance that is engaging for clinicians and the public.
A proposed set of outcomes of good governance that can be described and measured.
A series of diagnostic tools with which CCGs can measure the outcomes of their governance arrangements supported by a process that CCGs can employ.
A set of case studies drawn from insight gathered from the testing of the tools during development and / or from early adopters.
More than 40 CCGs tested or reviewed the draft tools in some form and many more attended national workshops or participated in detailed and informative LinkedIn discussions throughout the course of the programme.
